DALIA MARTINEZ
Assistant Field and Lab Supervisor
Dalia Martinez is the Assistant Field and Lab Supervisor with CMSF. During the field season, Dalia enjoys working with the tide to collect accurate data. Once the field season ends, Dalia switches over to processing soil samples in the laboratory and working with Ross Collins and their seasonal staff.
Dalia is a native San Diegan and has worked in monitoring wetlands since 2013. Her love for nature and science allowed Dalia to pursue her degree in B.S. in Biology, with an emphasis in zoology, at San Diego State University. Soon after, Dalia began her internship in the field with Gull-billed Terns and Black Skimmers with Katharine Goodenough and Robert Patton. Her work spans the range from here in San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge and reaches as far as the Manu River in Peru.
Dalia considers herself fortunate to continue applying her expertise in the field, especially in such species rich ecosystems found in San Diego. Besides her dedication to science, Dalia enjoys spending time with her loving husband and energetic sons, Luis and Carlos."
