Team OCEAN Kayak Naturalists
Team OCEAN staff and volunteers are trained naturalists in kayaks that inform and educate fellow ocean users on how to avoid disturbing sensitive marine wildlife in Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Team OCEAN staff and volunteers can be found on the water in Elkhorn Slough in Moss Landing California and off Cannery Row in Monterey California pointing out low-lying sea otters or harbor seals and showing migrating birds that stop in Monterey Bay on their journey. Since the program’s inception in 2000, members of Team OCEAN have contacted over 100,000 people on the water.
Your generous donation to Team OCEAN will provide for marine radios, kayak paddles, spray skirts, wetsuits, paddle jackets, life jackets, volunteer training, waterproof paper for data collection and boat repairs.
